Christmas Events in the Annapolis Valley

November marks the beginning of many Christmas related events in the Annapolis Valley. Each town hosts their own Christmas events with each one being slightly unique.

Join the Greenwood Mall on November 14th at 11:30am for their Children's Christmas Parade. The parade begins in the Mall at Econo Color and ends at Santa Land. The Kingston Elementary School will be performing in Centre Court after the parade and Mrs Claus will be in Centre Court decorating cookies with the children from 1pm - 3pm.

On November 19th the Town of Kentville will hold their Torchlight Parade and Skating Party. The line up begins at Town Hall to follow Santa around the town to the Centre Square. Christmas Carols are sung and a countdown by the Major is held to the light up the town. The skating party at the Centennial Arena follows with a visit from Santa!

The 35th Annual Acadia Christmas Crafts Expo Show will be held in the Town of Wolfville at the Acadia Arena from November 20th – November 22nd. The times for the event are November 20 from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm, November 21 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and November 22 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm

On Saturday November 21st join the Village of New Minas for their Santa Parade of Lights. The parade begins at 6pm and follows Commercial Street. The Parade is the kick off to the New Minas Celebration of Lights.

November 21 and 22 Central Kings will be hosting the annual Somerset Christmas Craft Fair. Both days the fair will be open from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Each year this is one of the top craft fairs in the valley and with wide range of artisans who will be setup there is sure to be something for everyone.

The weekend of November 27th – November 29th the Town of Berwick will be holding their Berwick Santa Claus Celebrations. The events will include a tree lighting ceremony on November 27th at 7pm, hay and wagon rides on November 29th from 1pm – 3pm at the United Church Campground, as well as their Magical Christmas Parade that will begin at 6:30pm at The Grand View Manor on November 28th.

Saturday, November 28 the Middleton Curling Club will be hosting their annual Christmas Fête.
A day-long celebration of the season, sharing good cheer with the community. Club opens at 8:00 a.m. for our famous Big Breakfast and the beginning of ticket auction and sale of decorated Christmas trees, wreaths, and Gingerbread Fantasies, plus other crafts. Breakfast ends at 11:00; mulled wine, cider, tea, coffee, and Christmas treats served throughout the day. Draw to the Button contest on the ice from 1-3 p.m. Club will close from 3pm to 7 pm. Casino-style games night starts at 7 pm, with draws for ticket auction prizes plus prizes at the end of the evening for the most successful players.

Annapolis Royal will be holding their Breakfast with Santa at the Annapolis Royal Legion on November 28th from 9am – 5pm. The cost will be $7 for adults and $5 for children.

Starting November 28th a Victorian Christmas will be held in Annapolis Royal at the O'Dell House Museum every Friday and Saturday evenings from 7pm – 9pm and Sunday afternoons from 2pm – 4pm. Visitors will receive homemade cookies, hot mulled apple cider and carols being sung.

The Village of New Minas continues to celebrate their Celebration of Lights with a Tree Lighting Ceremony on Wednesday December 2nd at 6:45pm at the New Minas Civic Centre. Following their will be a Christmas Party at the New Minas Volunteer Fire Department at 7:05pm. Spectacular Fireworks will begin at 6:50pm at the New Minas Civic Centre.

On Friday December 4th from 5pm – 7pm, join the Village of Kingston at the Western Kings Arena for their “Santa Comes to Kingston” event. There will be a visit from Santa, cookie decorating, Stripes the Clown, Skating, Wagon Rides, Hot Dogs, Apple Cider & Hot Chocolate. Non-Perishable donations for the Upper Room Food Bank will be accepted.

On December 5th, join the Town of Middleton for their Annual Family Christmas Celebration from 10am – 12pm at the Annapolis East Elementary School. Food bank donations will be accepted. The Annual Christmas Luncheon and Christmas Bake Sale will be held at Emmanuel Church from 11am – 3pm. The cost will be $5 per person.

On December 12th at 1pm join the County Fair Mall in New Minas for their Family Holiday Fun Day. This event will include a chilli cook-off, holiday spirit contest and a ginger bread house contest.

On December 17th the New Minas Recreation will host the Sentimental Journey “Christmas” for seniors 50 + and their guests. A turkey dinner, sweets and refreshments will be provided for 12.00$ per participant.

Also remember to visit Santa at both the County Fair Mall in New Minas and the Greenwood Mall in Greenwood beginning mid November!
