Annapolis Royal Wins Challenge

Posted On: Thu. Sep. 25 2008

Since 1995, Communities in Bloom has been challenging communities across the country to be environmentally friendly, show their community pride, and keep their communities beautiful.  The non-profit organizations slogan is "People, plants and pride ... growing together". Each participating community is evaluated on a number of categories which all relate back to the slogan and goals of the program.

This year, 2008, Annapolis Royal has won the International Challenge in the small category. They were competing against other communities which were previous winners in their countries respective challenges. The other participants in this category were Aughrim Ireland, Grouville England, Olds Alberta, St. Clairsville Ohio, and Trail British Columbia.

Annapolis Royal held many weekly awards for home owners, business owners, and organizations leading up to the judging, to get the whole community involved and aware of the programs goals. Congratulations to Annapolis Royal for both winning the International Challenge, and also for working together as a community to help keep their part of the Annapolis Valley beautiful.
