Scotian Gold in Coldbrook Nova Scotia makes an excellent stop on a day out in the Annapolis Valley. They have many things to offer including their Country Store where you can get many different items including fresh valley apples, farm and garden supplies, everyday pet supplies, and even clothing.
Scotian Gold also has an Apple Market & Café where you can take a break and get a bite to eat, or a delicious treat. A favourite pass time by many tourists and local residents is, on a hot summer day, stop in and grab an ice cream cone and head out to the petting zoo / park. They really keep the grounds in beautiful shape. There is a large duck pond which is shaded by a number of lovely weeping willow trees.
There are a number of animals on display for you to visit and you are able to pet and feed some of them. Typically you can pick up a bag of feed in the store which is always a favourite treat for the sheep and goats. They also have a donkey and cow who like to come up close to get a pat on the nose. Rabbits, chickens and turkeys make up the other animals who you can visit.
In the middle of park Scotian Gold has also setup a small playground with a slide and swings for the children to burn off some energy while taking a break from the animals.
